What is Flowye Licensing?

Flowye Licensing is a protection system used by VRChat avatar creators. When you purchase an avatar that uses Flowye Licensing, you must activate the license before you can upload or use the avatar in VRChat.

This system helps creators protect their work from piracy while ensuring that legitimate buyers can enjoy their avatars.

How License Activation Works

  1. Purchase an avatar from a creator (e.g., on Gumroad, Patreon, etc.)
  2. Download the avatar package from the creator
  3. Open the project in Unity (2021.3.2f1 or later for VRChat)
  4. Install the Flowye plugin (if not already installed)
  5. Activate the license using the Flowye plugin
  6. Upload to VRChat and enjoy your avatar

💡 Tip: The activation process is quick and secure. Your VRChat ID is used to verify your purchase with the creator's sales records.

What Data is Collected?

Flowye collects minimal data necessary for license verification and security:

You CAN:

  • ✅ Upload the avatar to your VRChat account
  • ✅ Use the avatar in public and private VRChat instances
  • ✅ Customize the avatar (within VRChat's terms)
  • ✅ Request license transfers if you change accounts

You CANNOT:

  • ❌ Share the avatar with others (unless the creator explicitly allows it)
  • ❌ Upload the avatar to multiple VRChat accounts
  • ❌ Distribute the avatar package or source files
  • ❌ Remove or bypass the licensing system
  • ❌ Use the avatar for commercial purposes (unless licensed)

What if I Change My VRChat Account?

If you create a new VRChat account and want to use your licensed avatar on the new account, you must:

  1. Contact the avatar creator and explain your situation
  2. Request a license transfer to your new VRChat account
  3. Wait for the creator to approve and process the transfer
  4. Activate the license on your new account

⚠️ Important: You cannot use the same license on multiple VRChat accounts simultaneously. Each license is tied to one VRChat account.

Troubleshooting

Activation Fails

If activation fails:

  1. Check your internet connection
  2. Verify your VRChat ID is correct
  3. Contact the avatar creator to confirm your purchase is recorded
  4. Contact Flowye support on Discord if the issue persists

Avatar Won't Upload

If you can't upload the avatar to VRChat:

  1. Verify the license is activated in Unity
  2. Check VRChat's upload requirements (poly count, texture size, etc.)
  3. Ensure you're using a compatible Unity version (2021.3.2f1 or later)
  4. Contact the avatar creator for avatar-specific issues

License Revoked

If your license is revoked:

  • Contact the avatar creator to understand why
  • Review your purchase records with the creator
  • Resolve any disputes directly with the creator
  • Contact Flowye support if you believe this is an error

Do I need to pay for Flowye Licensing?

No. Flowye Licensing is provided by the avatar creator at no extra cost to you.

Can I use the same avatar on multiple VRChat accounts?

No. Each license is valid for one VRChat account. If you want to use the avatar on a different account, you must request a license transfer from the creator.

What if the creator stops supporting the avatar?

If the creator stops supporting the avatar, Flowye may still provide basic licensing services. However, you should contact the creator for updates.

Can I get a refund for my avatar purchase?

Refunds are handled by the avatar creator or the marketplace where you purchased the avatar. Flowye does not handle refund requests directly.

Is my data safe?

Yes. Your data is encrypted in transit, and sensitive identifiers (IP, device ID) are stored in hashed form. We take data security seriously. See Privacy Policy for details.

Can I object to data processing?

Yes. Under Article 21 GDPR, you have the right to object to processing based on legitimate interest. If you object and we cannot demonstrate compelling legitimate grounds, we will stop processing your data (though this may affect your ability to use licensed avatars). What happens if I violate the terms?

If you violate the terms (e.g., sharing the avatar, bypassing licensing), your license may be revoked and your VRChat account may be banned from the Flowye system.

How do I delete my data?

Contact Flowye via email (business@dummics.com) or Discord to request deletion. Note: deleting your data will remove your access to licensed avatars.
